Where do lifestyle entrepreneurs go to be inspired, have adventures and learn together?
“Network. Inspiration. Adventures. Exotic lifestyle. Friends. What more do you want?” – Brian Kyed (Cofounder, Moving Monday)
It started in 2010 as a solution to an unexpected problem. Somewhere between kite-surfing in the Canary Islands, volcano climbing in Bali, and skiing the Swiss Alps, I realized that I was lonely.
Objectively, my social life was thriving. I was surrounded by cool people, forever meeting new vacationers, locals, and expats.
What I missed was the networking, brainstorming, mutual inspiration and sheer excitement of working and living with other lifestyle entrepreneurs. I’d run into a few here and there, but I craved more. I wanted to surround myself with these dream achieving people, not just run into them on occasion.
But where do lifestyle entrepreneurs go to adventure and learn together? There was no country, no hostel, no home for globe-trotting entrepreneurs.
A couple months of planning, emailing, and chatting later, and Project Getaway 2010 launched. Fifteen adventurous entrepreneurs, including yours truly, met up in beautiful Bali for an experiment in lifestyle design: For six weeks we were going to live, work, and learn together in luxurious tropical villas, interrupted only by ocean dips, Kuta club nights, ceremonies with the locals, and crossfit sessions.
It was a roaring success, and word got out quickly. We did it again with larger and larger groups the next year and the one after that. This year, so many entrepreneurs wanted to come that we’re doing it twice.
“Project Getaway exceeded all expectations. I still feel inspired by the people I met in 2010. Sometimes I see it as the best investment of my life, both personal and financial.” – Tobias Schelle (Founder, 24slides.com)
Project Getaway became a micro-mecca for those who’ve created a lifestyle of freedom, where living and working in paradise is at least an intriguing possibility within reach and at best a reality…Project Getaway is where they flock together for a month of networking, adventuring, and creating awesome businesses together in paradise.
A few months ago, Project Getaway Thailand saw 19 world changers jamming and exploring and starting a few businesses together.
And, on October 1st 2013, they’re rocking it again in the paradise where it all started…
Project Getaway Bali!
“The inspiration you get from being with such an incredible group of people is invaluable. Add to that the most enjoyable locations and adventure and there is really not much else to ask for!” – Kristian Dupont Knudsen (Founder of mymee, FNA, & CherryTomato)
If you’re a successful lifestyle entrepreneur, and you want to adventure and work with awesome entrepreneurs in a palm-tree paradise, I’d like to invite you to Project Getaway Bali 2013.
You’ll spend all of October living in luxury villas, enjoying tropical island weather, treating yourself to massages, munching delicious food and drinks, adventures (diving, paragliding, rock climbing, hiking & biking, to name a few), and generally being pampered silly.
The PG villas are in north Seminyak, a place with easy access to beaches, city & night life, shopping, surfing, golfing, local culture, and everything awesome that Bali has to offer.
We’ve even got our own mobile app. You can use the Luxury Mobile App to order massages in the gazebo, maid service to your room, smoothies by the pool, breakfast in bed, taxis to the door, and even a haircut. And it’ll keep you up to date on the latest events, workshops, and adventures you’ll be having at Project Getaway.
But that’s just the icing.
Project Getaway is all about the entrepreneurial lifestyle.
The community you’ll network with at Project Getaway Bali 2013 will form the basis of your life-changing experience.
You’ll live with amazing like-minded lifestyle designers, trading methods and philosophies on becoming incredibly productive as you work on your own and each other’s businesses. See how they get productive and discover your optimal working style to get a ton of high level work done in a fraction of the time you’d usually have to invest (are you the poolside-in-your-bathing-suit entrepreneur, the multi-monitor-big-table-with-other-focused-friends entrepreneur, the standing-desk-solitary entrepreneur, or something all your own?).
So far, we’ve had nearly every kind of successful location independent entrepreneur come to a PG event, bringing their specialized and valuable knowledge together to help each other grow faster than we ever could on our own.
- Serial Entrepreneurs
- SaaS Entrepreneurs
- Business Developers & Growth Hackers
- Online Marketers
- Graphic Designers
- Software, App & Web Developers
- Authors, Writers & Copywriters
- SEO experts
- Affiliate Entrepreneurs
- And a lot more.
An unexpected side effect we’ve discovered in the last three years of Project Getaways is that you are simply more productive – and less stressed – when working in a relaxed, beautiful, and focused environment with people like these.
“Go for it! I achieved more in one month than I usually do in six, and still found time to make good friends and get a scuba diving license. As a member of Project Getaway, I can only recommend the experience. It truly changed my life.” – Maia Mazaurette (Sex blogger & writer, Sexactu.com)
You can work alone on your own businesses, join the workshops where everyone shares their unique knowledge, and even form new partnerships with other PG members to build start-ups right there on the exotic Bali beaches.
It wouldn’t be the first time a new business venture has been born out of new Project Getaway friendships. The last 4 events have seen the birth of 8 successful startups:
“So interesting to see the companies that have come out of Project Getaway every year” - Kristian Holte (Cofounder, Qonra)
Now getting in is not easy. Of all the applications submitted, only about 14% make it to a Project Getaway event.
The idea isn’t to let just anyone who can afford it join Project Getaway. Otherwise, we’d just be selling vacations. The idea is to gather only the highest quality and most inspiring lifestyle entrepreneurs. To learn and build things together in paradise, and enjoy ourselves as much as humanly possible in the process.
Every PG member has at least one successful entrepreneurial venture, a set of valuable and shareable skills, and is ready to put themselves out there and be heard.
“But Michael, couldn’t I just come work and adventure in Bali for a fraction of the cost of Project Getaway?”
Not only can you live and work in paradise for surprisingly little money, but I can think of few things I’d recommend more!
Project Getaway isn’t just the opportunity to work in paradise though. You’ve already got that opportunity. Project Getaway is the chance to live and work in paradise with a family of like-minded and hugely inspiring lifestyle entrepreneurs.
It’s the reason we are so selective about who can join us here. It’s why our application process is so rigorous: We gather a family of the most amazing and inspiring and successful entrepreneurs we can find. You’ll be surrounded by nothing less than world class, genuinely awe inspiring lifestyle designers. There are no wanna-be’s here.
You are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with. For one month, you’ll spend your days with a crew of life-enhancing, fear-defying, goal-achieving, passionate people who spend their time together swapping knowledge and building cool things between surfing sessions and gourmet dinners.
Sound like the kind of place you want to be? Then…

“It’s a brilliant way to explore whether working remotely works for your business. Plus you get to meet and share ideas with a variety of super smart entrepreneurs and live in an incredible place. I made great friends, got some awesome business advice and had an amazing month in Bali. I can’t recommend Project Getaway highly enough, so stop reading this and start signing up!” – Jacqueline Biggs (Founder of Blue Lemons & Brand Camp, Author of Marketing to Win)
Project Getaway Bali 2013 takes place from October 1st to November 1st in Bali, Indonesia. It’s the perfect time of year: the tourists are gone, but the weather is still amazing.
Project Getaway prices start as low as US$89/day. That includes all meals, housing, cleaning, laundry, Internet access, and more for the whole month. Heck, we even throw in free authentic Balinese massages and as many fresh-squeezed fruit juices and smoothies as you can drink. And, what’s more, it’s all tax-deductible.
For comparison, alike hotels here cost between USD $66 to $279 per night, with none of the meals or massages or entrepreneurial friends.
And we’re not making a profit here. What you pay covers the costs of the event, the villa, the food, and salaries for the staff.
Choose from different levels of luxury depending on your preference. Adventure activities are priced separately, and the overall experience you’ll have at Project Getaway Bali is quite priceless.

The reason 95% of us are entrepreneurs is because we discovered it’s the best path to freedom.
And there’s nothing better than enjoying your freedom with people who earned theirs, in a place that is the very definition of an island paradise.
Pack your laptop and your swimsuit. I’ll see you in Bali.
